Spain holds a special place in the hearts of many Filipinos, owing to centuries of colonial influence and cultural exchange. The Philippines' historic ties with Spain have left a lasting impression on our traditions, language, and cuisine. Spanish loanwords are a part of our everyday conversations, and our culinary landscape is abundant with Spanish-inspired dishes. My visit to Barcelona was a tribute to these cultural connections and to explore the iconic architecture of Antoni GaudĂ.

GaudĂ's Architectural Marvels:

My primary reason for visiting Barcelona was to witness the architectural brilliance of Antoni GaudĂ. His innovative designs and unique approach to architecture captivated me during my interior architecture studies. His work blends various styles, resulting in a distinct and captivating architectural language.

Sagrada FamĂlia:

My journey began with a visit to the iconic Sagrada FamĂlia, GaudĂ's magnum opus. This colossal basilica is a testament to his genius, with its intricate facades, towering spires, and a mesmerizing interior bathed in the ethereal light.

Park GĂĽell:

Another highlight of my trip was a visit to Park GĂĽell, a whimsical public park that showcases GaudĂ's playful and imaginative design. The colorful mosaics, curving pathways, and whimsical sculptures create a magical atmosphere that transports visitors to a world of fantasy and wonder.

Casa BatllĂł and Casa MilĂ :

Barcelona is also home to two of GaudĂ's most famous residential buildings, Casa BatllĂł and Casa MilĂ . These architectural gems exemplify GaudĂ's commitment to organic shapes and innovative structural solutions.

Barcelona's captivating fusion of history, art, and culture is a traveler's essential. It left me with cherished memories, a profound admiration for the enduring legacy of Spanish culture, and the feeling that it was truly a creative and enriching trip.
